The Right to Memory is as Important as Other Rights
Elmira Abylbek (Nogoybayeva), the head of the Esimde Research Platform, delivered a speech at the World Forum for Democracy / Forum mondial de la Démocratie, held from November 6 to 8 in Strasbourg, France.
She underscored the critical importance of restoring and preserving historical truth, particularly concerning periods of mass repression. She highlighted Esimde’s efforts to inspire public interest in history as a foundation for meaningful future initiatives. These initiatives aim to promote new, objective perspectives on the past, present, and future of an independent Kyrgyz society.
